One of the questions I am often asked is how to manifest more money. While one need not be exceedingly rich in order to live abundantly, a steady cash flow is nice and most of us want to know how to create it. Therefore, for the next few weeks, I'll be devoting space to Wealth Creation 101. Because I was a young woman in the sixties, I've decided to name the series after a best selling book from that time period which covered an equally popular topic. (Those who were in the sixties with me know the one I mean.)

I'll begin this week with a quick run through of the basics, and then expound on the process in upcoming issues. Those with questions are invited to ask and as space permits I'll try to answer. Hopefully, by the time we're through with the series, we'll all be manifesting more of every good thing in our lives, including money. So let's get started...

One of the first things students of new thought learn is that the universe is not only an abundant place, containing limitless supply, but that prosperity is an inside job. Money, like everything else, is pure energy pressed into matter and drawn to us by the vibratory frequency of our thought trends. While the world may tell us money comes from physical sources like jobs and investments, inheritances and lottery wins, metaphysics tells us it comes from within.

We receive what we believe.

Of course, if we insist on believing our source of supply is physical instead of spiritual, the universe will reflect it back to us that way.

We may want more money so badly we can taste it. We might affirm and visualize and do all the other things we think are necessary to manifestation, but as long as the belief doesn't change, neither will anything else. After all, it doesn't do much good to affirm "Money is flowing to me from every direction" when the subconscious is saying "No it isn't you idiot, you only have one job!"

But the truth remains. No person, place or thing is ever the cause of any experience in our lives, including how much money we have or don't have. Our supply comes from Spirit within, not from any outward source. Once we embrace this fact, then we can begin applying the process necessary to manifesting more money.

Fortunately, the manifestation process for creating anything, including money, is relatively simple:

1. Decide what you don't want.

2. Determine what you do want.

3. Focus your thoughts exclusively on number two and forget about number one.

4. Believe you can have what you desire, no matter how impossible it might seem.

5. Intend to have it.

6. Be grateful even when it doesn't show up.

7. Act like you have it anyway.

8. Be willing to allow it when it does come and no matter in what form it arrives in.

9. Accept it.

This is the basic technique. Of course, as with anything else, there are variations. Some metaphysicians advocate additional steps, others recommend fewer. Some say you should never try to manifest money at all, but should work only on creating the things it can buy. Money is simply a form of energy, however, and as such, will respond just as any other energy form might, so whether you'd rather manifest cold hard cash or the house you could buy with it is entirely up to you. The critical elements remain the same for either: Thought plus desire plus belief and intention combined with gratitude, detachment and acceptance.

The real secret to manifesting money doesn't lie in knowing the process, however, but in applying it consistently. The steps listed above, by themselves, have no power and will produce nothing. It is only through application that their validity can be determined. Without willingness to methodically follow the steps necessary, all the knowledge and understanding in the world won't produce results.

Many of us have a tendency to buy all the books, listen to all the CDs and attend all the seminars and then wonder why our lives aren't improved. But just as it's impossible to enjoy a delicious morsel of cake by looking at the recipe, neither can you experience lasting prosperity by just studying the steps in the process. You have to get your metaphysical hands dirty, so to speak, and until you do -- until you steadfastly combine thought, desire, belief and intent to produce the desired results -- until you do that, it's just useless knowledge.
